Fontaine Photography Featured in Vancouver Is Awesome – Celebrating the 40 Over 40 Project

When we launched our 40 Over 40 portrait project here in Port Coquitlam and the greater Vancouver area, it was never about publicity. It was about celebrating women, their stories, and the strength that comes with lived experience. So being featured in Vancouver Is Awesome, one of the city’s most respected local publications, is something we are taking in with so much gratitude.

The feature highlights our 40 Over 40 Project, a portrait series created to honor women over forty while raising money for charity and creating a platform for their voices. Each woman who stepped into our studio brought her own story, her own courage, and her own beauty. This project was about more than photography. It was about visibility, confidence, and community.

What makes this recognition so meaningful is that it shines a light on the people behind the portraits. Every woman who participated trusted us with her story and allowed us to create something powerful together. Their portraits reflect resilience, individuality, and a lifetime of experience, and that is exactly what this project was designed to celebrate.

The Vancouver Is Awesome article shares how this project came together, why it matters, and how photography can be used as a force for good. It highlights how our studio combines artistry with purpose, using portrait photography not just to capture how someone looks, but to honor who they are.

For us at Fontaine Photography, this project represents everything we believe in. We create images that are meant to last, that tell real stories, and that help people feel seen. Whether we are photographing a woman rediscovering her confidence through boudoir, a business owner stepping into her brand, or a family preserving a moment in time, the heart of our work is always connection.

Being featured in Vancouver Is Awesome is not just a milestone for our studio. It is a celebration of the women who showed up, shared their stories, and supported a cause that gives back to the community.

This recognition belongs to every person who made the 40 Over 40 Project what it is.
